Dade County Criminal Court Cases
Dade County is part of Missouri's 28th Judicial Circuit with Barton, Cedar, and Vernon counties. The official Dade County directory routes readers to the county justice offices. State felony files ultimately proceed in Circuit Court after an information, indictment, or bind-over. The associate circuit division handles assigned matters that include many misdemeanor cases, serious traffic charges, and felony complaints before a prosecutor files an information or a grand jury returns an indictment. A court record is organized by case number and filed counts. It is not organized by a jail booking number.
The Dade County Circuit Clerk keeps the local judicial file at 300 W. Water St., Greenfield, MO 65661. Greenfield Municipal Court, at 105 S. Grand St., handles city ordinance matters within the judicial circuit structure. A municipal case should not be treated as a sheriff file merely because a warrant or later booking is involved. That circuit choice keeps the result set tied to Dade and its neighboring circuit counties. Open the case-number link, confirm Dade as the court location, and compare the filing date and case type before relying on a match.
A name search can miss a permitted public record because of spelling, a protected party type, a closed case, or a search rule. Ordering Dade County Criminal Files
The clerk publishes a Dade court records request form. It asks for requester contact details, the person or parties, case type, case number, hearing or case date, judge or courtroom when known, and a clear description of the documents. It also lets the requester choose a noncertified copy, certified copy, CD, or transcript. A fax return is limited to noncertified material.
Mail the form, fax it to 417-637-5055, or send it to DADE.CIRCUIT.COURT.EMAIL@COURTS.MO.GOV. The county directs email and mail requesters to include the form and photo ID. Paper-copy processing is about five business days after receipt, so a court date and a copy-production date should not be assumed to be the same. A Dade criminal case file shows what the prosecutor filed and what the court did. The charge description can change after the first complaint. Docket entries then record counsel appearances, probable-cause and bond events, settings, motions, pleas, warrants when public, judgment, and sentence. The court file answers a different question from the sheriff's arrest and booking record.

Remote document access depends on the document's security level and Missouri's Remote Public Access rules. The courthouse file viewer and a clerk-supplied copy remain the fallback when the online docket lists an event but does not display the paper behind it.
Dade County Court Copy Charges
The clerk's schedule effective July 18, 2025 lists several distinct products. An online docket is useful for orientation, but it is not a certified court record. Ask which product fits the need and confirm the current total before sending payment. Mailed orders can combine a product fee, page charges, and actual postage.

Certification is the clerk's formal attestation that a copy comes from the court record. It does not change the ruling or add facts. Closed-file research is also distinct from access to material closed by law.

How a Criminal Case Moves
A report and booking may precede the judicial case, but the court file begins when a complaint, information, or indictment reaches the court. A felony complaint can pass through associate circuit proceedings before the case moves forward on an information, indictment, or bind-over. An arraignment presents the charge and takes a plea. Pretrial entries then track motions, settings, discovery disputes that become public filings, and any plea setting or trial.

A disposition is the outcome of a count, such as conviction, dismissal, or acquittal. Sentencing follows a conviction, though a plea and sentence may occur close together. The docket should be read in date order because an amended charge or later judgment can supersede an earlier entry.
Read Dade County Case Dispositions
Missouri terms can look similar while carrying different effects. A suspended imposition of sentence, or SIS, means the court withholds imposition of sentence while probation is served. A suspended execution of sentence, or SES, means the court imposes a sentence but suspends its execution during probation. A dismissal ends a charge without a conviction, while an acquittal is a not-guilty result after adjudication. None of those terms should be guessed from an arrest charge.
For a closed qualifying record, Missouri uses expungement. The official RSMo §610.140 text controls eligibility, exclusions, procedure, and effect. The statute changed for 2025, so old summaries can be wrong. A person reviewing their own Dade County case should first obtain the docket and official disposition, then use current Missouri Courts expungement forms if the record may qualify.

Dade County Court Files Onsite
Case.net can show a docket entry without exposing its attached document. Missouri Courts explains that courthouse public terminals and the File Viewer provide a location-based access tier for public documents that are not open through remote access. The Dade Circuit Clerk can also supply copies under the local order process. These channels complement one another.
Federal criminal cases are outside Missouri Case.net, even when the event has a Dade County link. Those records belong to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri and the federal PACER system. Municipal ordinance cases also require attention to the city division. Court name and jurisdiction should always be confirmed before concluding that a missing Case.net result means no case exists.
Case Record Access & Restrictions
Missouri Court Operating Rule 2 governs public access and confidentiality for judicial records. Public access does not expose confidential identifiers, protected parties, sealed documents, juvenile matters, or expunged and closed cases. Victims, witnesses, children, protection-order subjects, and other protected party types may not be retrievable by public name. Full dates of birth, financial account data, and other private identifiers can be redacted.
A missing online result is therefore not proof of a clear history. Search by the known case number when possible, check spelling and the selected circuit, and ask the Dade Circuit Clerk whether an open copy can be provided. Under the Missouri Sunshine Law, other county records have their own custodian rules, but court-file access is also shaped by the judiciary's operating rules.
